1. Which altered portrait was the hardest to create? Why? Explain.

The altered portrait that was the hardest was the collage and the cracked face. They both consumed a lot of time to do and had to have a lot of patience to cut and adjust the other layers so they run smoothly and don't look out of place. What was also a problem was the fact that you had to do the steps right to see the picture actually work and look good enough to turn in.

2. Which altered portrait was the easiest to create? Why? Explain.

The easiest portraits were the hand colored black and white it was easy because it didn't take much work to color different parts of the picture and make them pop. The picture taking part was hard because you had to creative and come up with new positions that would looked good if it was in black and white. The coloring was fun because i got to express myself in a different way that was creative.

3. What does "Altered Portrait" mean to a viewer vs a photographer? Explain.

To viewer it might seem like a photo with a lot of different ways of editing that make them seem more artsy. The picture might seem like if they were made for a certain type of market and or company. To a photographer it might seem like a way of adding personal creativity to the pictures and make them their own in a way. It can show the photographer sees the picture in a different light and adds what is missing so it doesn't seem so plain or boring to the eye.

4. Out of the 7 altered portraits which one will you likely create again? Why? Explain.

Out of all the portraits that i have made i really loved making the collages I like how it takes creativity and it challenges to making the pictures from ordinary to unique. Another portrait that I loved was the picture overlay and I loved the colors you could add to the same image and mess with people in a way they didn't expect.

5. What is the historical significant behind one of the altered portrait techniques you learned? Explain.

Some historical things that I learned was that the Sepia was used way back when the cameras added a brown tint to the pictures. Or that you can fix and image that is old by adding the brown tint to the image to fix the photograph.

6. Why is it important for you to learn how to alter portraits? Explain.

It was important for me to learn altered portraits because now i can be more creative with my pictures knowing theirs no limit to how I can edit. Another reason is that I got to practice something different and can see if that something i would like to do in the future as a whole protest that focuses on that.

7. Should all portraits be altered? Why or Why not? Explain.

All portraits should be altered to make them different and it doesn't have to be dramatic. An alteration can be as simple as adding more light and making shadows pop out more or fixing the light when it was to bright or to dark.  Or you can be creative and all kinds of colors but that depends in the photographer and the way they want to express his art work or how he want people think about it.

8. By altering an portrait, what does it allow you to do to the portrait? Explain.

When altering a portrait it gives the photographer more room to express him self and shows his emotions when he shot the picture. It can give the photograph a new way of looking at it without having to be the photographer or ask him. Or it can be a collage and can give the people an individual look on the photo without having to make a model make faces to express what your going for.

1. What did you pick to do your project on? Explain why you chose it.

What I decided to take the pictures for this project was  on my phone. I used my phone because I decided to do everything out of town I was in Mexico. This made the picture more differently then the rest and it makes the signs more fun because there in Spanish instead.

2. What did you do to get the image? Explain.

What I had to do to get this pictures was drive around and try and get good pictures from the car's window. Or when we went to visit people I had to go out and look for some stop signs with a good back grounds.

3. What editing did you have to do to your images? Explain why they needed that kind of editing.

What I did but don't know if it helped out in any way I had to change the brightness/contrast first. Then you change the images highlight and shadows to make things look less bright. At the end you make the image black and white and you make some thins look less bright then other's.

4. What did you learn about this kind of photography by shooting it? Explain.

What I learned was that its not as easy to take these pictures and get a good background. or the signs might of looked cool but you couldn't find the right angle to take it from so they just come out weird and all messed up. You have to have your phone ready to take the picture at all times and you might miss some good one's but no one wants to go back to retake it. shooting this was also cool and challenge like an extreme sport.

5. Was there anything you found difficult about creating these images? Explain why.

What I found the most difficult was that when you were trying to take the picture you had to be patient and take it at the right moment or they would look blurry and messed up. Or getting the picture without people in it was hard and you had to wait for them to walk away or leave. Also that when your taking the picture you have to think of how your gonna edit it so that you get the right amount of light that it will look well and bright.

6. How do you think they came out overall? Could they be better? Why? Explain it.

What I think that I could do better when taking the pictures by getting down and trying to get a good angle and he best pictures were taken in the morning when the sun was coming up . Also try to get some better back grounds that look good and get the signs with more spray paint on them because they look more cool.

7. What are you thinking about doing for your next independent project? Explain your idea.

For my next independent project I was thinking of doing some thing more creative like a photo shoot in a grocery store with a friends and get some food up in there and maybe it will be a fun experience. Or another idea was using sparklers in the dark so we can do some kind of graphite with light.

What im going to need soem pait that is skin proof or good with skin and then  im going to check if they are not alergic to it in any type of way then get the paint brushes that are soft and wont initate the skin when i have it on the skin. then some different type of lighting that will look diffrent.

4. Where are you going to shoot these images? Explain.

im going to probably take them in my room  by the window or in the back yard. or in the kitchen where the wall is white and will bring focuse on the person instead of it being a competition.

5. Why did you want to try doing this type of photography for this project? Explain.
